Week 7 - Day 1 Excerpt
Today’s Thin Thought: Early
to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise
Today acknowledge for yourself that you've made
it to the halfway point in your Thin
Over 40 training! This is very exciting because it shows
the depth of your commitment. Living healthy truly is a lifelong endeavor, whose
benefits will continue to produce longevity, peace, and improved health for
years to come. No quick-fix diet can do that for you. I applaud your willingness
to work through these issues and implement needed changes in your life!
Drink lots
of water
Bend,
stretch, and use your weights upon waking
Walk in
the morning for at least 25 minutes
Keep track of what you put in your mouth
Watch your servings/portions
Watch your intake of unhealthy fats
Move more during the day
Chose a variety of whole foods over fragmented foods
Take a good multivitamin/multimineral
Enhance your diet with nutritional supplements
Intentionally pursue a good night's sleep
Setting The Day for Success
This week, Setting the Day for Success is going to be
about setting the night for success. After all, you know hard is to have
an active, productive day when you've had a lousy time sleeping the night
before. You can't concentrate, you're lethargic, and all you can think about is
sneaking off somewhere to take a nap. Everything about your day just seems to
take more effort than usual. It generally puts you into survival mode, where
you'll do the bare minimum, just to get out the door and back in bed. You're
grumpy, you're grouchy, and even your body seems to hurt more as everyday aches
and pains are magnified. Given half a chance, you'd love to call in sick and
spend the day trying to catch up on the night. This isn't the way to live!
