Setting The Day for Success
This week, we'll examine the effects of four key
brain chemicals, or neurotransmitters, on maximizing your
Thin Over 40 success. Those brain
chemicals are: GABA, endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin. The Key Concept for
Week 6, therefore, is Brain Power. For many of you, this is going to be new
information. You have a basic understanding of how your body works but you've
probably relied on doctors to explain any definable injury or illness. After
sharing your concern or complaint, you came away with a prescription or an
admonition not to do again whatever caused the problem in the first place. I
venture to say that few of you have had an in-depth discussion with your
physician about the effects of neurotransmitters.

Success
in Action
Today I'd like you to think about the role relaxation
plays in your day-to-day life. The faster and faster you accelerate during your
day-through your activities, your thoughts, your reactions–the
more it takes to "brake" at the end of the day, to relax and rest.
