Thin Thought: Positive changes enhance your life.
Welcome to Week 2, of Thin Over 40! I applaud your continued
commitment to achieve a healthy, vibrant, mature lifestyle.
This week you
will continue to do the following things:

Drink lots
of water

Bend,
stretch, and move upon waking
·
Walk in
the morning for at least 15 minutes
Setting The Day for Success
The Key Concept for this week is Longevity. Most of us want
to live a good, long life, full of vitality even as we age. We want
to experience health, well into our senior years. Have you ever seen
pictures or read interviews with people who have lived to very old
age? Occasionally, it will be a person who has "beaten the odds" by
living a long life even when engaging in unhealthy habits such as
smoking, drinking, or improper eating. That is very rare, however.
Most of us recognize that in order to enhance longevity, we need to
make certain lifestyle choices. These choices inevitably involve
change. As adults, it can be be difficult to change. Even though
you're over forty sometimes it's good to go back and review
fundamentals learned as children, Let's energize and revitalize
those truths!

This week, you'll face
challenges in your resolve to maintain your commitment. Think over a
typical week and write down in your journal three challenges you can
expect to face. For one person, they might be the latte on the
morning drive, the box of doughnuts at work, the candy machine down
the hall in the afternoon. Take time now, before they happen, to
write down how you are going to overcome these challenges. For
example, instead of a caffeine-laden pick-me-up on the way to work,
how about opening a window and tuning in a favorite tape or CD? I
guarantee you'll feel pumped up and ready to go when you arrive! If
you take a bus, train, or subway to work, why not engage a fellow
passenger in conversation? Again, be creative and tailor the
response to help you overcome the temptation.
