Week 12 - Day 1 Excerpt

Today’s Thin Thought:    In for a penny, in for a pound

Today marks the beginning of your twelfth week training for your Thin Over 40 life. This week, I want you to focus on that word"beginning." Even in your twelfth week, you're still beginning to integrate the principles and apply them to your individual situation, to your life. What you are learning is for the long haul and will continue to have health-enhancing, life-changing results from this week forward.

Setting The Day for Success

Every day during this training, we've talked about success. We've thought about what success means to you. Today I'd like you to think about it again. I'd like you to focus on it and anchor yourself in it. Many times, people begin to make dietary and lifestyle changes, thinking that they can put up with "anything" for a short mount of time. Already, they perceive their efforts as going toward something negative, something they must endure. If there is anything I'd like you to get out of this twelve-week training it's that these changes are negative!

Success in Action

Using short phrases and statements, look at the six topics you've been learning. Personalize them. Under each, write down what comes to the forefront of your mind. For example, under "Emotions and faulty beliefs," you might write, "When I feel marginalized at home or work, I turn to sweets." Or under "Eating patterns growing up", you might write, "I've learned I eat a lot of food in a hurry now because growing up in a large family, there was rarely enough food to go around."
