"Thin
over 40"
Week 11 – Making the Most of Forgiveness
Excerpt
Week 11 - Day 1 Excerpt
Today’s Thin Thought:
Two steps forward and one step back is still progress
Congratulations on reaching Week 11 in
Thin Over 40! This is a pivotal week because we're
going to deal with that inevitable occurrence―the
backside, the "one step back." Because it is inevitable, it's vital that
you accept it and plan to successfully navigate around it. One of the most
successful strategies for handling a backslide is understanding the proper role
of forgiveness. That's why forgiveness is this week's Key Concept.

Setting The Day for Success
While being forty has tremendous advantages, there
can be an age-related disadvantage―desperation.
Desperation can produce all-or-nothing thinking. To put it another way, you need
top guard against the idea that you've got to get this Thin Over 40
thing down
pat immediately because time is running out and if it doesn't happen now it's
not going to ever happen because you've tried it a dozen times before and
nothing's ever worked long-term and you've just about given up hope, but you've
put yourself on a limb to try one last time and if you're unable to pull it
together to do it this time, well, just forget it.

Success
in Action
Each day this week in the Success in Action section,
you're going to take a realistic look at a backsliding scenario. Even if the
scenario presented is not one that totally corresponds to your situation, please
work through the strategies for success anyway.
